GARLAND COUNTY (8-9) – Crews taking soil samples will require a lane closure on U.S. Highway 270 in the city of Hot Springs, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Work will require closing the outside lane of westbound U.S. Highway 270 within the work zone between Crystal Hill Rd and Haven Hill Lane. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic cones and advance warning signs.
The lane closure will be in affect 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 11, weather permitting.
This project is in preparation for the future widening of U.S. Highway 270 west of Hot Springs. It's part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program. More information on this project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
