BENTON COUNTY (8-20) – Asphalt work on Interstate 49 will require lane closures in Springdale and Lowell, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, lanes on I-49 will be closed overnight between Wagon Wheel Road (Exit 76) in Springdale and State Highway 264 (Exit 78) in Lowell. Due to weather conditions, these closures have been extended through Saturday, August 25 and will occur during overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The inside lanes of northbound and southbound I-49 will alternately be closed to allow the contractor to work on the asphalt pavement. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and warning signs. Traffic will be restored daily by 6:00 a.m.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @myARDOT.
