Construction Requires Overnight Lane Closures at Bella Vista Bypass Interchange in Bentonville

BENTON COUNTY (1-16) – Construction to build the new Highway 549 (Bella Vista Bypass) interchange with Highway 71 and Interstate 49 in Bentonville requires lane closures on I-49 and Hwy. 549, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, the following travel impacts will begin the week of January 18 during overnight hours.
- Wed., Jan. 20 | 8 p.m. – 7 a.m. | Hwy. 549 | Alternating eastbound and westbound lanes closed from McKissic Creek Road/Hwy. 71 to McKissic Creek Bridge
- Wed., Jan. 20 | 8 p.m. – 7 a.m. | I-49 southbound | Outside lane closed just south of the Bella Vista Bypass interchange
Traffic will be controlled by signage, construction barrels, and police enforcement, with flagging operations on Hwy. 549. Watch for warning signs and safety personnel during the work. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds.
This project (Job CA0903) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes constructing approximately 2.8 miles of roadway with bridge structures on U.S. Highway 549, including a new Bella Vista Bypass interchange with U.S. Highway 71 in Bentonville.
