BENTON COUNTY (1-22) – Construction to build the new Highway 549 (Bella Vista Bypass) interchange with Highway 71 and Interstate 49 in Bentonville requires lane closures on Hwy. 71/Walton Boulevard, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will stop all lanes of traffic for periodic 15-minute intervals on Hwy. 71/Walton Blvd. between Northwest Lowes Avenue and the temporary traffic signal on Walton Blvd. Crews will be erecting structural steel for a new bridge over the roadway during overnight hours between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., from Tuesday, January 26 through Thursday, January 28. Work will conclude the morning of Friday, January 29.
Traffic will be controlled by traffic cones, construction barrels, traffic lights, signage, and police enforcement. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
This project (Job CA0903) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes constructing approximately 2.8 miles of roadway with bridge structures on U.S. Highway 549, including a new Bella Vista Bypass interchange with U.S. Highway 71 in Bentonville.
