PULASKI AND LONOKE COUNTIES (02-23) – Construction work to widen U.S. Highway 67 in Pulaski and Lonoke Counties requires lane closures and access ramp modifications, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, lanes on U.S. Highway 67 and the northbound frontage road will be closed at various times during the week of February 26. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zones.

  • T.P. White Drive, Alternating Northbound and Southbound Lanes
The northbound and southbound lanes of T.P. White Drive will alternately be closed between Vandenberg Boulevard and Northeastern Boulevard. The intermittent daytime closures will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one open lane and controlled with flagging operations and message boards. These closures will permit crews to perform a pavement overlay and restripe the pavement at T.P. White's on-ramp to northbound U.S. Highway 67 near Vandenberg Boulevard. After restriping, traffic will continue to use the on-ramp, but the designated left-turn bay will be removed.
  • T.P. White Drive and 2nd Street, Alternating Northbound and Southbound Lanes
The northbound and southbound lanes of T.P. White Drive and 2nd Street will alternately be closed between Coffelt Road and State Highway 5. The intermittent daytime closures will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Traffic will be controlled with flagging operations and warning signs. These closures will permit crews to detour traffic onto new pavement at the county line.
  • Highway 67, Southbound Outside Lane
The right lane of southbound Highway 67 will be closed at the State Highway 5 on- ramp. The intermittent nighttime closure will occur between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Traffic will be controlled with traffic barrels and warning signs. This closure will permit crews to restripe the existing Highway 5 ramp and traffic will be shifted onto new alignment during this operation.

This project (Job CA0605) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State Highway 5 in Cabot. The highway is being widened to three lanes in each direction. More information on this $79.2 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
