PULASKI & LONOKE COUNTIES (6-8) – Crews taking down an overhead power line spanning U.S. Highway 67 requires closing lanes in both directions for a 15-minute period in Pulaski and Lonoke counties, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

The 15-minute closure will take place on Sunday, June 10 at 6:00 a.m. Northbound and southbound traffic will be stopped at Mile Marker 12 between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and State Highway 5 in Cabot, weather permitting. Traffic control will be handled by the Arkansas State Police.

Advance warning signs will be placed to notify traffic approaching the closure. The public is advised to be cautious if traveling in this work zone and are encouraged to find alternative routes to avoid the highway closure. Traffic will be stopped prior to the exits to allow vehicles to exit.

This project (Job CA0605) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State Highway 5 in Cabot. The highway is being widened to three lanes in each direction. More information on this $79.2 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @myARDOT.
