BENTON COUNTY (3-23) – Construction on Interstate 49 in Bentonville and Rogers requires overnight lane closures on I-49, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Beginning early Monday Morning, March 27, crews will be paving along the outside lanes of northbound and southbound I-49. The outside lanes will be closed between Southeast Walton Boulevard (Exit 85) and mile marker 87 to allow for construction. Traffic will be controlled using signage and traffic barrels.
The lane closures will occur during the following days and times, weather permitting:
- Monday morning, March 27, between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Monday night, March 27 to Saturday morning, April 1, between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
This project (Job CA0902) is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 62/102 to Highway 72 and includes constructing auxiliary lanes from Highway 62/102 toward Southeast Walton Boulevard. Construction is expected to complete in late 2017. More information on this $27.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
