BENTON COUNTY (03-27) – Construction work on I-49 in Rogers and Lowell requires overnight lane closures, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Beginning Tuesday night, March 28, crews will be paving the new inside lane and shoulder on northbound and southbound I-49. The inside lanes will be closed from West Monroe Avenue/State Highway 264 (Exit 78) to New Hope Road (Exit 83) during this time period to allow for construction.
The closures will occur weeknights starting on Tuesday night, March 28 and ending Saturday morning, April 8, weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels.
- Northbound I-49 lane closures will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Southbound I-49 lane closures will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
This project (Job CA0901) is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from
Highway 264 in Lowell to New Hope Road in Rogers, and it is expected to complete in
late 2017. More information on this $38.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
