BENTON COUNTY (9-19) – Work associated with constructing the U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass requires lane closures on State Highway 112, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

Beginning Thursday, September 21, one lane of traffic will remain open on State Highway 112 between Carrie Smith Road and West Miller Road as crews lay final pavement. The lane closure will alternate between the northbound and southbound lane. Weather permitting, the lane closure will occur Thursday, September 21 through Friday, September 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic barrels and warning signs. Two lanes of traffic will be restored daily by 4:00 p.m.

This project (Job CA0907) is part of ArDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing approximately four miles of the new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to State Highway 112. The project is expected to be completed mid-2018 and will provide a principal east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area.
