PULASKI COUNTY (02-04) – Construction work to widen U.S. Highway 67 between Jacksonville and Cabot requires overnight lane closures in Pulaski County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, the outside lane of northbound U.S. Highway 67 will be closed from Main Street (Exit 9) to north of Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11), reducing traffic to one open lane. The lane will be closed Tuesday night, February 5 at 8:00 p.m. through Wednesday, February 6, at 1:00 p.m. Depending on inclement weather, this closure may be scheduled for a night later in the week. This closure will permit crews to remove and relocate concrete barrier wall to prepare for an upcoming northbound traffic switch to the newly constructed pavement. Traffic using the on-ramp entrance to northbound U.S. Highway 67 will be controlled with flaggers during this transition.
This project (Job CA0605) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State Highway 5 in Cabot. The highway is being widened to three lanes in each direction. More information on this $79.2 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @myARDOT.
