LITTLE ROCK (6-11) –Excavation work in conjunction with planned bridge construction for the Bella Vista Bypass will require a lane closure on Punkin Hollow Road in Benton County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The work will reduce traffic to one lane between Short Road and Miller Church Road during work operations. Two-lane traffic will be reestablished during non-work hours.

The lane closure will begin Friday, June 12th and continue weekdays for approximately one week, weather permitting. One-lane traffic will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers.

This project is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program and is constructing approximately 6 miles of the Bella Vista Bypass, extending from Highway 71B to Highway 72 South. The project involves the initial two lanes of a four-lane facility. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2016. More information on this $52 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
