Continuing on Sunday night, July 24, crews will be placing asphalt on the new median lane and milling and placing asphalt on existing lanes at the Elm Springs Road Interchange (Exit 73) and at Spring Creek Bridge.

The overnight lane closures will occur nightly starting on Sunday, July 24 and ending Friday morning, July 29, weather permitting. The inside lanes will alternately be closed northbound and southbound. Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels.

Northbound I-49 lane closures will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Southbound I-49 lane closures will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

This project is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening
3.4 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from U.S. Highway 412 to Wagon Wheel Road in Springdale. The project is anticipated to be complete in late 2016. More information on this $21.6 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
