BENTON COUNTY (8-16) – Construction work on Interstate 49 in Rogers requires a lane shift onto newly constructed pavement, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

Northbound traffic will be moved onto the newly constructed left lane between mile markers 82 and 84. This will allow crews to close the existing center and right lanes for bridge deck repair. Weather permitting, the work will occur between Friday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 19 at 12:00 p.m.

Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and warning signs. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zones.

This project (Job CA0901) is part of ArDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and included widening 5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 264 in Lowell to New Hope Road in Rogers. More information on this $38.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @myARDOT.
