BENTON COUNTY (8-25) – Construction work on Interstate 49 in Bentonville and Rogers requires lane closures on I-49, U.S. Highway 62/State Highway 102, and State Highway 72, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

Weather permitting; crews will be performing work requiring lane closures Monday, August 28 through Friday, September 29. I-49 entrance and exit ramps at Exit 86 and Exit 88 may be impacted during the closures.

  • Interstate 49
Between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., crews will be laying asphalt on I-49, which will require the inside and outside lanes of northbound and southbound traffic to alternately be closed between Southeast Walton Boulevard (Exit 85) and Central Avenue/State Highway 72 (Exit 88). Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels.
  • U.S. Highway 62/State Highway 102
Between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., the inside and outside lanes of eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 62/State Highway 102 will alternately be closed between Moberly Lane and Southeast Eagle Way. Traffic will be controlled using signage and barrels.
  • State Highway 72
Intermittently between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., eastbound and westbound lanes of State Highway 72 will alternately be closed between McCollum Drive and Beau Terre Drive. Traffic will be controlled with traffic barrels and flaggers.

This project (Job CA0902) is part of ArDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 62/102 to Highway 72 and includes constructing auxiliary lanes from Highway 62/102 toward Southeast Walton Boulevard.
