BENTON COUNTY (1-17) – Construction of a new overpass bridge for Grimsley and West Miller roads is complete and traffic will shift from the temporary road constructed west of Willis Shaw Elementary School in Springdale to the newly constructed road, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

This traffic shift will affect school traffic, and additional safety resources are being dedicated during the traffic shift to minimize effects to the school's student drop-off and pickup process. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and warning signs.

The transition will occur Thursday, January 19 and Friday, January 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The contractor is constructing approximately four miles of the new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to State Highway 112. The new overpass bridge crosses over the future Highway 412 bypass, and the newly constructed road begins north of Bridgegate Avenue and extends approximately 0.3 miles to the north.

This project (Job CA0907) is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program.
