Construction Requires Overnight Frontage Road Closures at South Street in Benton

SALINE COUNTY | October 26, 2022

Construction on the Interstate 30 frontage roads (north and south sides of the interstate) near the South Street bridge in Benton requires overnight closures.

Weather permitting, crews will temporarily close sections of the frontage roads and connecting I-30 ramps at South Street overnight Friday, October 28 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. The frontage road south of the interstate will be closed first, followed by the closure of the frontage road north of the interstate. These temporary closures will help facilitate work being performed on the South Street bridge.

  • The frontage road south of the interstate will be temporarily closed between Airlane Drive and Leander Street as well as at the I-30 eastbound on-ramp. Traffic will need to use alternate routes to access I-30 east.
  • The frontage road north of the interstate will be temporarily closed between the Exit 116 off-ramp and Bell Street as well as at the I-30 westbound off-ramp. Local traffic may use alternate adjacent roads to navigate around the closure.

Traffic will be controlled with construction barricades, traffic barrels, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
