Construction Requires Traffic Shift onto U.S. Highway 412 Bypass at Light in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY (11-19) – Construction to widen U.S. Highway 412 requires a traffic shift to the new Highway 412 bypass south of the community of Light in Greene County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, crews will move traffic onto the new Highway 412 bypass around Light on Monday, November 23, 2020. While construction crews are working to complete connector roads into the Light community from existing Highway 412, motorists traveling to Light will shift onto the new highway and turn north at Highway 228. This travel pattern will be in place until the connector roads into Light are completed in early 2021.
Be advised that there are new stop signs on Highway 228 at its intersection with the bypass. Traffic on Highway 228 will stop and yield to traffic on the bypass. The traffic shift will be controlled by traffic barrels, signage and pavement markings. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds.
This project (Job CA1003) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program to widen approximately 14.5 miles of U.S. Highway 412 to four lanes between U.S. Highway 67 in Lawrence County and State Highway 141 in Greene County.
