Construction Requires Traffic Shift on U.S. Highway 412 in Greene and Lawrence Counties

GREENE AND LAWRENCE COUNTIES (12-11) – Construction work to widen U.S. Highway 412 requires traffic shifts in Greene and Lawrence Counties, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, eastbound and westbound traffic on U.S. Highway 412 will shift to new pavement sections to detour around areas with bridge removal and replacement construction. Two locations on Highway 412 will shift traffic, beginning Friday, December 13 at 9:00 a.m. The traffic shift will be in place through summer 2020.
- Traffic shift approximately 1.3 miles east of interchange with U.S. Highway 67
- Traffic shift 1 mile east of the town of Light
The detour areas will have restricted shoulder widths at temporary barrier wall sections. The traffic shift will be controlled by signing, pavement markings, and traffic barrels. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone, and shoulder width will be reduced within the traffic shift zones.
This project (Job CA1003) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program to widen approximately 14.5 miles of U.S. Highway 412 to four lanes between U.S. Highway 67 in Lawrence County and State Highway 141 in Greene County.
