30 Crossing Public Involvement Meeting to be Rescheduled

LITTLE ROCK (2-4) – A sixth public involvement meeting to present proposed improvements to the downtown I-30 corridor will be rescheduled, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation (AHTD) officials.
The meeting was originally scheduled for February 23; however city of Little Rock officials and area stakeholders have recently requested that the 30 Crossing project team evaluate a new alternative that would shift downtown access farther south from the existing State Highway 10 interchange to the downtown grid between 4th and 9th Streets.
Sufficient time was not available to evaluate this new request before the previously scheduled February 23 public involvement meeting. Once the 30 Crossing project team completes this evaluation, a new date will be announced for the rescheduled meeting.
The next public involvement meeting will provide updates to the 30 Crossing project since the last public meeting held in October 2015 and the Town Hall meeting held in November 2015. These updates include the continued refinement of both the eight-lane general purpose and the PEL Study recommended 10-lane collector/distributor alternatives, traffic modeling of both alternatives, interchange options for access to downtown Little Rock, and the initiation of an environmental evaluation process for both corridor alternatives.
The 30 Crossing project proposes to improve I-30 between I-40 and I-530, including the Arkansas River Bridge, as well as I-40 between State Highway 107 and U.S. Highway 67. Additional information about the project, including the public meeting reschedule date, will be posted when it becomes available.
