Improvements to U.S. Highway 67 Require Traffic Shift in Pulaski & Lonoke Counties

PULASKI & LONOKE COUNTIES (02-08) – Construction work on U.S. Highway 67 in Pulaski and Lonoke counties requires a northbound traffic shift onto newly constructed pavement, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
To continue with the highway widening, northbound traffic will be moved onto newly constructed northbound lanes between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and State Highway 5 in Cabot. Weather permitting; this shift will occur Monday night, February 11 at 8:00 p.m. to Tuesday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m.
Crews will be re-positioning barrier wall and re-striping the newly constructed northbound lanes. The inside and outside northbound lanes will alternately be closed and shifted onto new alignment during this operation. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and signs.
After the traffic shift, two northbound lanes of traffic will be open while the inside shoulder and left travel lane will be closed to allow work to continue along the median. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zones.
This project (Job CA0605) is part of ARDOT's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State Highway 5 in Cabot.
