I-30 River Bridge Demolition Requires Temporary Traffic Slowdowns in Little Rock and North Little Rock

PULASKI COUNTY | February 14, 2023

Construction work to continue dismantling the old I-30 Arkansas River Bridge will require two temporary traffic slowdowns on the new river bridge in Little Rock and North Little Rock.

Weather permitting, highway police and construction crews will briefly slow eastbound traffic starting at Roosevelt and westbound traffic starting at the I-30/I-40 split. On-ramps to the interstate may be temporarily closed during this pause in traffic flow.

The traffic slowdown will last approximately 30 minutes along the new river bridge on the following dates:

  • Monday, February 20, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 21, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This will allow crews to conduct underwater demolition of the piers on the old I-30 river bridge. These traffic impacts are treated as a precautionary measure as the underwater demolition will have little observable effect.
