BENTON COUNTY (07-14) – Crews placing bridge beams over State Highway 102 /
U.S. Highway 62 will require closing all lanes for multiple 15-minute periods in Bentonville, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Beginning Monday night, July 17, all eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 102/62 will be closed between Moberly Lane and Southeast Eagle Way to allow crews to hang bridge beams at the I-49 overpass over the highway. Traffic using the I-49 off ramps at Exit 86 may be impacted during the closures and should consider alternate routes.

Weather permitting; workers will close the lanes for 15-minute intervals between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., from Monday night, July 17 through Saturday morning, July 22. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and flaggers.

This project (Job CA0902) is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 62/102 to Highway 72 and includes constructing auxiliary lanes from Highway 62/102 toward Southeast Walton Boulevard. More information on this $27.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
