BENTON COUNTY (7-7) – Work associated with constructing the U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass requires lane closures on South Goad Springs Street in Lowell, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Beginning Monday, July 10, northbound and southbound lanes on South Goad Springs Street will alternately be closed to allow for bridge beams to be erected for an interchange ramp over the roadway. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic barrels and warning signs.
Weather permitting; the lane closure will occur Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be restored daily by 2:00 p.m.
This project (Job CA0907) is part of AHTD's Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing approximately four miles of the new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to State Highway 112. The project is expected to be completed mid-2018 and will provide a principal east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area.
