Highway 67/229 and Interstate 30 Ramp Closures Scheduled in Saline County

Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires ramp closures at the Highway 67/229 and I-30 interchange from 9 p.m. Thursday, July 25 through 6 a.m. Friday, July 26, and 9 p.m. Friday, July 26 through 6 a.m. Saturday, July 27.
Thursday, July 25 Ramp Closures:
- I-30 east ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114)
- Highway 229 south ramp to I-30 west
Friday, July 26 Ramp Closures:
- I-30 west ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114)
- Highway 67 north ramp to I-30 west
- Highway 67 north ramp to I-30 east
Weather permitting, crews will close the specified ramps each night and reduce Highway 67/229 to a single lane to allow crews to install new pavement markings. Traffic will be controlled with message boards, flagging operations, construction barrels, barricades, and signage.

Detours will be signed as follows:
- I-30 east ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). Traffic will continue on I-30 east and take Exit 116 (Sevier Street/South Street), return to I-30 west, and take Exit 114 (Highway 67/229).
- Highway 229 south ramp to I-30 west. Traffic will take I-30 east, use Exit 116 (Sevier Street/South Street), and return to I-30 west.
- I-30 west ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). Traffic will exit at Exit 116 (Sevier Street/South Street) and follow the frontage road to Highway 229.
- Highway 67 north ramp to I-30 west. Traffic will follow Highway 67 to Highway 229 to South Street and take the ramp to access I-30 west.
- Highway 67 north ramp to I-30 east. Traffic will follow Highway 67 to Highway 229 to South Street and take the ramp to access I-30 east.
During the I-30 west Exit 114 closure, the intersection with Highway 67/229 and the frontage road will be shifted onto new pavement. A dedicated right turn lane will open on the I-30 west ramp to Highway 229 when it reopens Saturday, July 27.
The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116).
