NR #24-348

Five Interstate 30 (I-30) eastbound on- and off-ramps at Highway 70, Highway 67, and South Street will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Saturday, October 26, through 5 a.m. Sunday, October 27, in Saline County.

Weather permitting, crews will close on- and off-ramps at three consecutive I-30 eastbound interchanges between Highway 70 in Saline County and South Street in Benton to allow crews to shift main lane traffic onto new concrete pavement and into its final configuration.

With the completion of this shift, all three I-30 eastbound main lanes will be open to traffic. Crews will work to reopen each ramp as soon as possible throughout the night as construction progresses; each ramp will reopen no later than 5 a.m. Sunday, October 27.

The detours for each ramp closure will be signed and are also listed below. See detour map NR 24-348-A for more information.

  • Highway 70 ramp to I-30 east. Highway 70 traffic will take I-30 westbound and turn around at Exit 106 to access I-30 eastbound.
  • Highway 67 ramp to I-30 east. Highway 67 traffic will take I-30 westbound and turn around at Exit 106 to access I-30 eastbound.
  • I-30 east exit ramp to Highway 67 (Exit 114). I-30 east traffic will continue past Exit 114, turn around at Exit 117, and take I-30 westbound to Exit 114.
  • South Street ramp to I-30 east. Local traffic will use adjacent streets to navigate around the closure.
  • I-30 east exit ramp to Sevier Street/South Street (Exit 116). I-30 east traffic will continue past Exit 116, turn around at Exit 117, and take I-30 westbound to Exit 116.

Accommodations will be made to allow emergency vehicles to access closed ramps.

All I-30 westbound on- and off-ramps will remain open during this work.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
