Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires various ramp and frontage road closures at the I-30/Highway 70 interchange, Highway 67/229 frontage roads, and South Street frontage road in the months of October and November.

Highway 70 ramp to I-30 west
Weather permitting, the closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly from Thursday, October 17, through Sunday morning, October 20, and from Sunday, October 27, through Friday morning, November 8, to allow crews to conduct paving operations and switch ramp traffic onto new pavement in the ramp’s final configuration.

  • Highway 70 to I-30 west detour. Traffic will take the on-ramp to I-30 east, take Exit 114 (Highway 67/229), and return to I-30 west.

Weather permitting, the closures will occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Monday, October 21, through Friday morning, October 25, to allow crews to conduct paving operations switch ramp traffic onto new pavement in the ramp’s final configuration.

  • Highway 70 to I-30 east detour. Traffic will take the on-ramp to I-30 west, take Exit 106, and return to I-30 east using the overpass.

Weather permitting, the closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly from Tuesday, October 22, through Friday morning, October 25, to allow crews to conduct paving operations on the ramp.

  • I-30 west to Highway 70 detour. Traffic will continue on I-30 west, take Exit 106 (Old Military Road), return to I-30 east, and take Exit 111 to access Highway 70.

Frontage Roads (Various Locations)

Weather permitting, the closures will occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Monday, October 21 through Saturday morning, October 26 to allow crews to conduct paving operations in small sections along the South Street frontage road north of I-30, Highway 229 frontage road north of I-30, and Highway 67 south of I-30.

  • Frontage road detours. Local traffic may use alternate adjacent roads to navigate around the closure.

Accommodations will be made to allow emergency vehicles to access closed ramps.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116).
