Construction to widen Highway 67/167 (Interstate 57) to six lanes between Main Street and Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville requires a temporary closure of Vandenberg Boulevard between John Harden Drive and N. 1st Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly starting Sunday night, March 15 through Saturday morning, March 21.

Weather permitting, crews will close Vandenberg Boulevard underneath Highway 67/167 (I-57) to allow beam placement for the new bridge. 

Signed detours will be in place to navigate around the closure. See detour map NR 26-035-A for more information. 

  • To reach the east side of the Vandenberg Boulevard closure: Traffic will take John Harden Drive south to the N. James Street Bridge and cross over to access TP White Drive east of Highway 67/167 (I-57).
  • To reach the west side of the Vandenberg Boulevard closure: Traffic will take N. 1st Street south to the new Gregory Street Overpass and cross over to access John Harden Drive or Marshall Road west of Highway 67/167 (I-57).

Traffic will be controlled with barricades and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours. 

This project (Job CA0604) is part of the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s (ARDOT) Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes, between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11) in Jacksonville. The project also includes improvements at the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), the Gregory Street interchange (Exit 10B), the Vandenberg Boulevard interchange (Exit 11), and conversion of the Frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
