Arkansas Highway Commission Approves Bid for Improvements in Craighead County

LITTLE ROCK (12-11) – The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Craighead County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
The purpose of the project is to construct State Highway 18 (Monette Bypass) in a new location for approximately 3 miles, east of Jonesboro.
Robertson Contractors, Inc. of Poplar Bluff, MO was awarded the contract at $13,719,430.80.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2017.
