This project completed the widening of Interstate 40 to six lanes between Conway and North Little Rock. The additional lanes enhance the transportation connection between the cities, increase capacity, and improve traveler safety.
This project widened approximately 5.5 miles of Interstate 40 to six lanes, extending from the Interstate 430/Interstate 40 interchange to Highway 365 in Pulaski County. At the I-40/I-430 interchange, single-lane ramps were widened to two lanes for the I-40 eastbound to I-430 southbound ramp and the I-430 northbound to I-40 westbound ramp.
The widening portion of this job, excluding the interchange modifications, was designed under job CA0603 Highway 365 - Interstate 430.
