The public is invited to join elected officials, members of the Arkansas State Highway Commission, Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials, and other community leaders at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate completion of the project known as 30 Crossing. This project reconstructed and provided operational improvements to Interstate 30 in downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock.

The ribbon-cutting event will take place in the southwest parking lot of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, 1200 President Clinton Avenue, in Little Rock.

Interstate 30 (I-30) is the backbone of the central Arkansas regional freeway network. In addition to connecting several interstates and freeways, it supports regional travel and is one of the most traveled highways in Arkansas. When construction began, this stretch of I-30 carried around 120,000 vehicles per day; it is forecasted to carry around 143,000 vehicles per day in 2045.

30 Crossing is the first design-build project in Arkansas, combining design and construction into one contract, delivering a more efficient, transparent, and cost-effective result.

The job was awarded to Kiewit-Massman Construction in 2019. The project includes improved interchanges at Interstates 30 and 40 and Interstates 30 and 630, widened and additional lanes, ramp improvements, overpass improvements, and a new bridge over the Arkansas River.
